As GlobalLogic continues expanding our business presence in Germany, we are now looking for an experienced Finance Controller/ Chief Accountant to join our Finance team. 

Work model: hybrid in Münster, implying office visits 3–4 days/week during the first two months and 2 days/week afterwards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in owning and managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, with a track record of ensuring timely and high-quality financial deliverables.
• Deep technical knowledge and experience in preparing and analyzing financial results under German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS.
• Strong ability to provide clear explanations of financial performance drivers, variances, and trend.
• Solid understanding of accounting laws and tax regulations.
• Extensive experience in leading the preparation of statutory financial statements (HGB) and supporting IFRS reporting packages.
• Proven ability to serve as the primary point of contact for statutory, financial, and tax audits (both HGB and IFRS).
• Demonstrated success in managing relationships with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and accounting service providers.
• A proactive mindset with a documented history of identifying efficiencies and successfully driving the implementation of improved solutions.
• Strong leadership competencies with at least 2–3 years of experience in managing and developing an accounting team.
• A high level of precision in data quality and a “get it right the first time” approach to financial reporting.
• Comfortable navigating organizational changes and able to lead a team through process transitions.
• Capable of identifying gaps in communication and proactively closing them to ensure project alignment.
• Previous experience in – or a strong openness to – working within a diverse, multicultural environment.
• Experience in maintaining and enforcing robust J-SOX internal controls – nice-to-have.

Job responsibilities

• Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality financial deliverables.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial results in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS, providing clear explanations of financial performance drivers, variances, and trends.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, laws, and tax regulations.
• Maintain and enforce robust internal controls in accordance with JSOX requirements.
• Lead the preparation and coordination of statutory financial statements under German GAAP (HGB) and support IFRS reporting packages.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for statutory, financial, and tax audits, including HGB and IFRS audits.
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and other accounting service providers.
• Finding opportunities for efficiency and improvements and driving implementation of solutions.
