Description

The Java SmartStart Program is designed for students who want to deepen their Java knowledge and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, mentor-led environment.
Running from late November to mid-January, this remote program includes over 20 hours of live expert-led training and more than 100 hours of curated self-paced learning. Participants explore Java core, unit testing, functional programming, Clean Code and best practices; building a strong foundation in Java, Spring Boot and microservices architecture.

You’ll be guided by experienced trainers, mentored individually and supported by a community of fellow Java enthusiasts. By the end of the program, you’ll have a clear path toward a career in software development and recognition of your participation for academic credit.

How to Apply

We are selecting 35 participants, based entirely on their application file; no technical interview required.

To apply, submit a single, 2-page PDF file that includes your updated CV and your answers to the following questions:

  • What is your current experience with Java? (Rate yourself on a scale from 0-5)
  • How comfortable are you with Spring Boot or other backend frameworks? (Rate yourself 0-5)
  • Do you have experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)? (Rate yourself 0-5)
  • Have you ever built or worked on a web application? If yes, describe it briefly.
  • Are you planning to use this program to fulfill your university’s mandatory practice/internship hours? If so, specify your university’s requirements.
  • How much time per week can you realistically commit to hands-on coding and practice?

Your application must be a single, 2-page PDF file. Please ensure you combine your updated CV and the answers to all questions above into this one document, as incomplete submissions will not be considered.
