Description

Reports To: Head of Product Design, We are seeking a systems-minded Product Designer to evolve and apply our design system in partnership with front-end engineering, with a focus on modernizing legacy interfaces for usability, accessibility, and visual consistency. This role is central to improving the day-to-day experience of our users by translating complex workflows and legacy UI patterns into cohesive, scalable interfaces.

The client is  the leading provider of software solutions for the Private Capital and Credit markets. Whether a client wants an end-to-end technology suite, or independently focused modules, they helps eliminate the boundaries between systems, information, and people. We’re looking for ambitious, smart, and creative individuals to join our team and help our clients achieve their goals.

This will be a 100% remote opportunity.

GlobalLogic estimates the starting pay range for this role to be performed remotely within the USA to be $120K to $130K and reflects base salary only and does not include additional performance-linked variable compensation, benefits etc that may be applicable for the role. This pay range is provided as a good faith estimate and the amount offered may be higher or lower. GlobalLogic takes many factors into consideration in making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • This designer will own the end‑to‑end design of reusable interface patterns and components, working closely with engineering to ship high-quality UI into our production applications.
  • The role spans auditing existing experiences, defining improvements within our existing design system, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to ensure that updates are feasible, performant, and aligned with our product vision.
  • The ideal candidate thrives in complex enterprise domains and is motivated by incremental, systematized improvements to mature products.
  • 4+ years of experience in product design, UI, or UX design, with significant time spent on design systems or component-based design for web applications.
  • Experience designing for complex, data-heavy, or enterprise software, ideally including modernization of legacy interfaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with front-end engineers, including familiarity with how design systems are implemented in code (e.g., React component libraries, Storybook).
  • Strong skills in Figma (or equivalent) for component creation, variants, and documentation, and comfort working with tokens, grids, and responsive layouts.
  • Understanding of usability heuristics and accessibility best practices for web applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work iteratively within an agile product development process.
  • If you share the goal of turning complex, legacy enterprise workflows into a cohesive, modern product experience through systematic UI and strong design–engineering partnership, this role is for you.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Psychology

Job responsibilities

  • Design System Contribution: Contribute to and help document the design system, including components, patterns, and usage guidelines, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.
  • Partner with product and engineering to prioritize system enhancements that address real usability gaps in existing workflows.
Legacy UI Modernization: Audit existing legacy interfaces to identify usability, accessibility, and visual inconsistencies, and propose systematic updates using design system components.
  • Create pragmatic redesigns that respect technical constraints while raising the overall quality and cohesion of the experience.
  • Front-End Collaboration: Work day-to-day with front-end engineers to translate Figma components and specifications into production-ready implementations.
  • Provide clear documentation, interaction specs, and acceptance criteria, and participate in design reviews of implemented UI to ensure quality.
  • UX and Usability: Refine complex user flows, data-dense layouts, and interaction patterns to improve clarity, efficiency, and error prevention, especially for expert enterprise users.
  • Plan and run lightweight usability evaluations (e.g., heuristic reviews, hallway tests, or targeted user sessions) to validate and iterate on UI changes.
  • Governance and Standards: Contribute to design system governance rituals (intake, review, approvals) so new patterns are evaluated, documented, and aligned with accessibility and brand standards.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Clearly articulate design decisions, tradeoffs, and rationale to product managers, engineering leads, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate working sessions to reconcile user needs, system constraints, and technical feasibility in the context of legacy
    modernization.
