Description

Migration

Requirements

We are seeking a Migration Analyst to join the Discovery & Migration Planning Team, responsible for analyzing, mapping, and planning large-scale subscriber and billing data migrations within the telecom BSS/OSS ecosystem. This role focuses on data discovery, source-to-target mapping (STTM), profiling, and migration planning, ensuring migration strategies are well-defined before execution.
The ideal candidate will combine strong data analysis skills (SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Bash) with deep knowledge of telecom systems (Amdocs Ensemble, C1, Netcracker, Siebel CRM) and TM Forum SID models, to deliver accurate migration requirements and blueprints. You will play a critical role in migration impact assessment, design, and planning, enabling engineering teams to execute migrations with precision and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery and assessment of legacy subscriber, billing, and CRM systems to identify migration scope, dependencies, and constraints.
Perform data profiling and quality analysis, highlighting anomalies, gaps, and cleansing needs ahead of migration.
Create and maintain source-to-target mapping (STTM) aligned with TM Forum SID models, business rules, and target BSS/OSS system requirements.
Document data transformation, enrichment, and versioning rules (SCD) to support subscriber lifecycle and billing continuity.
Partner with architects and business SMEs to design migration strategies, sequencing, and cutover plans.
Collaborate with migration engineering teams to ensure mappings and requirements translate into reusable migration accelerators and automation scripts.
Support proof-of-concepts, mock migrations, and dry runs by validating mappings, reconciling results, and refining migration design.
Produce detailed migration documentation, including design specifications, validation rules, reconciliation reports, and planning artifacts.
Apply industry best practices for migration planning, including:
End-to-end traceability from source to target.
Incremental and phased migration planning with rollback options.
Auditability and compliance for subscriber & billing data.
Automation-first approach for mapping, validation, and reconciliation.

What You Bring

Experience:
5–7 years of experience in data migration, data analysis, or planning roles, ideally in telecom or large-scale IT environments.
Strong expertise in STTM, data profiling, and migration planning (including SCD/versioned migration).
Hands-on proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Bash scripting for discovery, mapping validation, and reconciliation.
Experience with Amdocs (Ensemble, C1), Netcracker, and Siebel CRM systems.
Knowledge of TM Forum SID models and their application in telecom data standardization.
Proven experience in subscriber & billing data migrations (discovery to cutover).
Familiarity with data governance, audit, and compliance frameworks in telecom environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to migration accelerators, ETL tools like Informatica, or data validation frameworks.
Cloud migration awareness (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
Excellent documentation and communication skills for bridging business and engineering teams.
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure migration programs.
Ability to simplify complex data issues for business stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to tell compelling stories with data.
Advanced degree or certifications in data management/migration frameworks (Preferred).
