Description

We are looking for a skilled Perl Developer / Engineer with strong experience in application migration projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and modernizing existing Perl-based systems and supporting code migration to newer technologies such as Python, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong proficiency in Perl programming and scripting.
• Proven experience in migration projects (especially from Perl to Python or other modern languages).
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Experience working with databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing Perl applications and identify opportunities for modernization or migration.
• Participate in the migration of legacy codebases (Perl → Python or other languages).
• Refactor and optimize existing Perl scripts for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient migration strategies.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues during and after migration.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Ensure high-quality deliverables through code reviews and adherence to coding standards.
