Description

Role: Senior AWS Agentcore Platform Engineer

Location: Reading, PA (Hybrid 2-3 days a week from office)

Position Type: Fulltime

We are looking for a highly technical Lead Platform Engineer to architect the observability, cost governance, and security framework for our enterprise AI agent ecosystem. You will be responsible for ensuring our agentic workflows—built on AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, and MCP servers—are scalable, observable, and cost-efficient.

The ideal candidate bridges the gap between traditional DevOps and the emerging world of LLMOps, with a deep focus on distributed tracing for non-deterministic AI workloads.

Salary Verbiage:

“GlobalLogic estimates the starting pay range for this role to be performed within the USA to be $130K to $140K. This reflects base salary only and does not include additional performance-linked variable compensation, benefits etc that may apply to the role. This pay range is provided as a good faith estimate and the amount offered may be higher or lower. GlobalLogic takes many factors into consideration in making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Cloud Expertise: Deep proficiency in AWS (IAM, CloudWatch, Bedrock, Lambda).
  • Observability Tools: Proven experience with Dynatrace, Jaeger, or Honeycomb, and distributed tracing standards.
  • AI/LLM Interest: Familiarity with the LLM lifecycle, including prompt execution, token usage, and frameworks like LangChain or AgentCore.
  • Automation: Advanced experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipeline design.
  • Collaboration: Experience working in an Agile environment with integrated tools like Microsoft Teams and Confluence.

Job responsibilities

1. Advanced Observability & Tracing

  • System Assessment: Evaluate AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and AgentCore traces against agentic requirements; deliver gap analyses and lead the implementation of observability in Dynatrace.
  • Distributed Tracing: Implement structured logging to track LLM decision paths, tool selections, sub-agent calls, and MCP interactions.
  • Validation Pipelines: Design post-deployment validation for agents and MCP servers, ensuring seamless tool registration and deployment health.
  • Architecture Strategy: Evaluate LangFuse and LiteLLM proxies versus AWS-native tools to deliver a future-proof observability roadmap.

2. Cost Governance & TCO

  • Taxonomy & Tagging: Extend tagging schemas to cover agent runtimes, MCP servers, and vector databases (Vector DBs).
  • Token Tracking: Design models to aggregate Bedrock token consumption and infrastructure costs per team/department.
  • Financial Automation: Build CloudWatch dashboards and AWS Budgets with alerting; automate cost reports via Microsoft Teams with integrated anomaly detection.

3. Monitoring & Incident Management

  • Alerting Framework: Define P1–P4 alerting rules for deployment failures, runtime errors, and MCP connectivity issues.
  • Intelligent Routing: Integrate notifications into Microsoft Teams, routing alerts based on resource ownership tags.
  • Self-Service Ops: Author and maintain comprehensive runbooks in Confluence to empower developers with self-service resolution.

4. Security & Access Control

  • Identity Architecture: Design a scalable ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control) model to ensure multi-team isolation without IAM policy sprawl.
  • Policy Engines: Evaluate the Cedar policy engine for fine-grained tool access and document enterprise-scale gaps.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Deliver production-ready Terraform modules for all security and identity configurations.
