Description

This role provides a unique opportunity to support England Teams in their pursuit of success at major tournaments. You will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality, reliable software that powers world-class performance analysis. Your primary focus will be developing Python-based data pipelines, APIs, backend services, and reviewing code and project outputs from internal and external data science teams to ensure quality, consistency, and production readiness. You will work closely with The FA’s Insights teams, Internal Development teams and third-party data science partners, reviewing their project documentation, Python code, modelling outputs, and proposed data structures. You will help translate their prototypes and research into scalable, maintainable, production-grade solutions within a modern cloud environment. You will be part of the Performance Technology team within Digital Technology at The FA, supporting platforms such as Helix, which provide the data and tools that empower England Teams to perform on the global stage. Through strong software engineering practices, you will help ensure that data science products and insights can be integrated reliably into the wider technical ecosystem to support critical decision-making and strategic performance objectives.
