Description
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, server platforms, hardware validation, embedded systems, or a similar field.
- Practical understanding of computer/server architecture and board-level hardware.
- Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, or qualification.
- Good understanding of server components such as CPU, RAM/DRAM, NIC, storage.
- Familiarity with low-level interfaces such as I C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and NVMe.
- Experience using electronic laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with Linux and scripting, preferably Python and/or Bash.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and server connectivity.
- Understanding of hardware/software interaction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with external partners, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Requirements
- Review hardware requirements, schematics, layouts, and platform configurations
- Perform system bring-up, debug, and troubleshooting across power, thermal, storage, networking, and system management.
- Perform root-cause analysis of hardware issues and collaborate with other teams to resolve problems.
- Develop and execute hardware validation and qualification plans for system and server components, including CPU, RAM/DRAM, NICs,
- storage/NVMe devices, PCIe devices, and other platform components.
- Work with low-level interfaces and protocols such as I²C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and NVMe.
- Use laboratory and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, thermal chambers, networking equipment, and other hardware debugging tools.
Develop Python and/or Bash scripts to automate validation activities, collect and analyze test data, parse logs, and generate reports. Work with Linux-based systems for hardware validation, troubleshooting, and test automation.
Job responsibilities
- Support networking and connectivity validation relevant to CDN server infrastructure.
- Collaborate with OEM/ODM partners and component suppliers on technical issues, qualification activities, and validation.
- Document test procedures, results, failures, root causes, and corrective actions.
- Support production and post-deployment issue investigation and provide feedback for future hardware improvements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
GlobalLogic estimates the starting pay range for this role to be performed in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to be $130,000 to $140,000 and reflects base salary only. This pay range is provided as a good-faith estimate, and the amount offered may be higher or lower. GlobalLogic takes many factors into consideration in making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations.
