Description
GlobalLogic runs a multi-stream delivery organisation spanning product engineering, mobile, data platform and QA transformation. US-based embedded payments provider delivering payment infrastructure, gateway services and developer APIs to software platforms and merchants. You will own the AWS infrastructure and delivery pipelines that keep a PCI-regulated, high-availability payments platform running.
Requirements
Must have
- AWS depth: VPC and networking, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS/Aurora, IAM, CloudFront, Route 53, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch.
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation, with modular, reviewed, version-controlled patterns.
- CI/CD: hands-on ownership of pipelines in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins – including quality gates and automated deployment.
- Containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS in production.
- Scripting: Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation and tooling.
- Monitoring and observability: Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK or CloudWatch – including dashboard and alert design, not just consumption.
- Linux administration and solid networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls).
- Git-based workflows, branching strategy, code review discipline.
- Clear written and spoken English; able to work directly with US-based client stakeholders.
Good to have
- Prior experience in payments, banking or another regulated environment.
- Working knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 control implementation.
- Windows/.NET workload experience on AWS (IIS, .NET application hosting).
- Database operations exposure: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB – HA, backup, replication.
- Security tooling: SAST/DAST, container image scanning, WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub.
- FinOps or cloud cost management ownership.
- AWS certification – Solutions Architect Associate/Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional.
- Experience with disaster recovery design and recovery testing at scale.
Job responsibilities
- Design, build and operate AWS infrastructure across multi-account environments (dev / QA / staging / production) using Infrastructure as Code.
- Own CI/CD pipelines end to end – build, test gating, artifact management, blue/green and canary release patterns, automated rollback.
- Containerise and operate services on ECS/EKS, including scaling policies, service mesh configuration and cluster upgrades with zero customer impact.
- Implement observability that catches problems before merchants do: metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, actionable alerting and SLO definition.
- Harden the platform for PCI-DSS: network segmentation, secrets management, key rotation, least-privilege IAM, encryption in transit and at rest, and audit-ready evidence.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery – backup strategy, RTO/RPO validation, failover runbooks and periodic recovery drills.
- Drive cost optimisation (FinOps): right-sizing, savings plans, storage lifecycle policies and per-stream cost visibility.
- Automate away toil – no manual production changes; everything through code and pipelines.
- Participate in on-call rotation, lead incident response, and write blameless postmortems with tracked corrective actions.
- Partner with product engineering, QA and security teams to shift reliability and compliance left into the development lifecycle.
