Description
Our client is an American leader in the consumer financial services industry.
One of the largest initiatives in 2023 for our client is the digital transformation and integration of multiple Digital and Operations platforms. Traditionally, these applications have run in separate channels, but they have identified multiple workstreams that they want to move into the Digital Channel / integrate with existing products.
All these products will be developed in React and will be built in microservice front ends for rapid feature deployment/ less dependency on each other. Examples of the workstreams/ products could include Pay my Bill, Digital Alerts, Collections, Manage My Account, Fix My Problem/ Disputes.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with technical depth in FE architecture and API orchestration.
These aren’t ticket-takers; they are engineers that can solve problems. They must be “creative and courageous” enough to shape the technical direction, as requirements are fluid and the tech is bringing the intuition with the connection of APIs being built by other teams.
Required Technical Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with strong technical depth in Front-End architecture and API orchestration.
- Proven ability to design and build dynamic, real-time user interfaces that react to streaming data and user-specific context.
- Strong understanding of React 17+ component lifecycles, hooks, and modern state management solutions such as Redux, Context API, and RTK Query, including when and how to apply each effectively.
- Experience building scalable UI solutions and integrating with REST APIs using modern frameworks and languages such as Node.js or Ruby on Rails.
- Ability to work in highly collaborative Agile environments where requirements evolve quickly and engineers are expected to help shape the technical direction, not just execute predefined tasks.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the creativity and initiative to connect systems and APIs developed across multiple teams.
- 3+ years of experience building robust unit, component, and end-to-end automated tests using frameworks such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience implementing and maintaining code quality and security enforcement tools, including SonarQube, Fortify, Nexus IQ, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and cloud tooling such as Jenkins, CloudBees, UrbanCode Deploy, AWS, and PCF environments.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Atlassian Rovo, or similar technologies to improve engineering productivity and integration workflows.
Job responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance highly interactive front-end applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript within a modern AI-driven ecosystem.
- Build personalized user experiences that leverage LLM APIs and user-context data to deliver intuitive AI recommendations and dynamic content experiences.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within the AI COE to integrate APIs, AI services, and agentic solutions developed across multiple platforms.
- Contribute to the architecture and technical direction of a rapidly evolving product where requirements may be fluid and discovery-driven.
- Partner with technical leadership to evaluate, prototype, and implement innovative solutions in ambiguous or incubation-stage environments.
- Develop scalable UI components, API integrations, and orchestration layers that support real-time interactions and intelligent workflows.
- Ensure high engineering standards through automated testing, code reviews, and implementation of code quality and security best practices.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with product, engineering, and AI stakeholders to continuously refine and improve the platform experience.
- Leverage modern development tools, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted engineering solutions to improve delivery speed and maintainability.
- Operate as a proactive problem solver capable of independently driving solutions, making technical recommendations, and adapting quickly to evolving business needs.
