Description:
As a software developer at Avid, you will work in Codec Team that is responsible for all aspects of video/audio codecs support in Avid’s flagship professional video/audio editing applications. You will be developing new functionality, as well as fixing issues, supporting and improving automated tests coverage. You will be involved in many projects relating to implementing new workflows for our customers.
Requirements:
Must have:
- BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- At least 3 years of experience in software development С++11/С ++17
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Visual Studio for C++ (or Apple XCode) is required
- Experience with API/SDK design/implementation is desirable
- Advanced in English (written and spoken) is required as this position involves direct communication with the US-based customer, clarifying requirements and milestones, and also progress reporting for the team
Nice to have:
- Experience with 3-rd party components (SDK) integration
- Knowledge of one of the scripting languages (Python, Lua)
- Experience in working with technical documentation, standards, ability to implement code according to technical specification
- The ability to work in a cross-platform development environment

As a member of the Codec Team you will be responsible for:
- Video and audio codecs code base maintaining and bug fixing
- The new codecs and SDK evaluation
- The new audio/video codecs integration
- Design and implementation video processing and coding algorithms in C++
