Director – Broadband Engineering & COE Leader (RDK / prplOS / CPE)

Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Director – Broadband Engineering & COE Leader to drive strategic growth, delivery excellence, and capability development across Broadband, Connected Devices, and CPE engineering domains. The role will be responsible for leading large-scale customer engagements, building a high-performing engineering organization, developing domain competencies, and supporting business growth initiatives with leading broadband operators, OEMs, and technology providers.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in RDK, prplOS, CPE/Device Testing, Broadband technologies, and customer-facing leadership experience working with organizations such as, VIZIO, Liberty Global, Charter, Vodafone, BT, and other broadband ecosystem players.

Key Responsibilities
Delivery Leadership
• Lead and manage large-scale broadband engineering programs covering RDK, prplOS, gateways, Wi-Fi, CPE platforms, and connected devices.
• Own end-to-end program delivery, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial performance.
• Establish delivery governance, quality processes, risk management, and execution frameworks.
• Drive transformation initiatives involving cloud-native broadband platforms, device lifecycle management, and next-generation home networking solutions.
Domain & Technical Leadership
• Provide thought leadership across:
o RDK-B, RDK-V, RDK-C
o prplOS and Open Broadband initiatives
o DOCSIS, GPON/XGS-PON
o Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 technologies
o Broadband gateways and routers
o Set-top boxes and connected devices
o TR-069, TR-369 (USP)
o Device Management Platforms
o Smart Home ecosystems
• Guide architecture reviews, technology roadmaps, and solution strategies for customers.
COE & Capability Development
• Build and lead Broadband Engineering Center of Excellence (COE).
• Define competency development strategy, training plans, certifications, and internal academies.
• Develop reusable frameworks, accelerators, testing assets, and solution offerings.
• Create technology roadmaps aligned with industry trends and customer priorities.
Customer & Business Growth
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and executive stakeholders.
• Support account growth through proactive engagement, solutioning, and innovation initiatives.
• Participate in customer workshops, executive reviews, and transformation discussions.
• Lead technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and strategic pursuits.
Practice Building
• Define and execute growth strategy for the Broadband Practice.
• Establish partnerships with ecosystem players and industry organizations.
• Drive hiring strategy, workforce planning, and organizational development.
• Mentor engineering leaders and build succession pipelines.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 15–20+ years of experience in Broadband, Embedded Systems, Connected Devices, or Telecom Engineering.
• Proven leadership experience managing large engineering teams and customer engagements.
• Strong expertise in:
o RDK
o prplOS
o Broadband Gateways
o CPE Platforms
o Device Certification & Testing
o Embedded Linux
o Wi-Fi Technologies
o Broadband OSS and Device Management

• Hands-on experience with customers such as, VIZIO, Charter, Liberty Global, Vodafone, BT, Rogers, Cox, or equivalent broadband operators.
