Step into a mission-critical role at the intersection of Generative AI and life-saving technology. We are partnering with a titan of Japanese industry to revolutionise how medical and industrial equipment is managed in hospitals and facilities worldwide. You will be a founding member of a team building a sophisticated GenAI platform designed to provide instant, intelligent access to complex product knowledge—from assembly and configuration to intricate repair procedures. This project is in its infancy, offering you the unique “greenfield” opportunity. 

Requirements

Must Have
Commercial experience as a Back-end Engineer (Middle level) building production systems.
Solid knowledge of .NET / C# for backend development.
Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
Basic to intermediate experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
– Azure App Service / Web Apps
– Azure Functions
– Azure Storage (Blob / Data Lake basics)

Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (experience with Entra ID is a plus).
Familiarity with event-driven or asynchronous processing patterns.
Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
Willingness to learn and grow within a cloud-native, data-driven environment.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Nice to Have
Experience with Node.js
Exposure to Cosmos DB or Azure SQL.
Basic understanding of cloud security and RBAC concepts.
Familiarity with AI-powered features (search, embeddings, APIs).
Experience working on systems that evolve from MVP to larger platforms.

Job responsibilities

As a Middle Back-end Engineer, you will contribute to the development of backend services that support a modern cloud-based platform. You will work closely with Senior and Lead engineers, gradually taking ownership of backend components and features.
Your responsibilities include:
Implementing backend APIs and services using .NET.
Developing integrations with Azure Functions, storage services, and search components.
Supporting event-driven workflows and asynchronous processing.
Writing unit tests and participating in code reviews.
Fixing bugs, improving performance, and refactoring existing code when needed.
Collaborating with frontend engineers, DevOps, and data engineers on end-to-end features.
Following established architectural patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
Gradually increasing ownership of backend components as experience grows.
