Our Client’s Digital Commercial organisation is outsourcing and scaling its digital capabilities through external and hybrid product teams. The frontend engineering initiatives focus heavily on delivering visually striking, brand-consistent, and high-performing user experiences across the client’s global web ecosystem. The primary objective is to build scalable, flexible frontend solutions that guide customers seamlessly through the digital sales funnel while maintaining strict design and legal compliance.
Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to oversee the technical direction, delivery quality, and day-to-day coordination of our development teams supporting clients’ digital ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge the gap between product management and engineering, translating high-level roadmaps into actionable technical tasks while enforcing elite coding and architectural standards. You will remain hands-on with programming while mentoring developers and mitigating technical risks.
- Experience: 7+ years in software engineering with proven experience leading agile development teams.
- Core Tech: Deep expertise in React.js, React-based frameworks, TypeScript, Node.js, animations, and heavy CSS formatting.
- Cloud & Devops: Strong familiarity with AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, DynamoDB), Datadog observability, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CDK.
- Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management, excellent communication skills, and ability to coordinate across cross-functional, global setups.
Job responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to define technical requirements, understand priorities, and ensure the feasibility of planned features.
- Translate roadmap items and epics into actionable technical tasks, ensuring clarity, balanced workload, and predictable delivery.
- Define and enforce development standards, including coding guidelines, architectural patterns, security practices, and documentation requirements.
- Guide technical design decisions to ensure scalable, maintainable, high-quality software solutions.
- Lead and support the development team, providing coaching, technical mentorship, and facilitating continuous skill development.
- Coordinate development activities across components and services to ensure consistency and alignment in implementation.
- Review and approve critical code contributions, ensuring adherence to quality, performance, and security expectations.
- Identify technical risks, blockers, and dependencies, proactively address issues, and communicate mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Test Leads, Testers, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration, efficient CI/CD workflows, and stable environments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including refactoring, automation, technical debt reduction, and process optimisation.
- Ensure accurate reporting on development progress, risks, capacity, and delivery status through sprint updates and governance meetings.
- Act as the primary escalation point for development-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and cross-team coordination.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and release planning to ensure alignment with delivery goals and quality expectations.
