Our client developes Operation Control Centers for numerous Rail end-users.
Requirements
We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to help our teams move from small setups to large-scale projects. This role is about more than just tools; it is about building complex systems and helping different teams work together effectively.
- Experience: At least 6 years working as a DevOps.
- Key Tools: High-level expertise in Kubernetes, Helm, and Jenkins.
- CI Knowledge: Strong experience with Continuous Integration, including setting up KPIs and automated code quality checks.
- Architecture: Familiarity with microservices and how to build systems that scale.
- Soft Skills: Ability to handle complex team dynamics and lead people through change.
- Modeling: Ability to create clear diagrams (like UML) to show how technical processes work.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively during the first 2–3 months, with the role becoming fully remote afterward.
Job responsibilities
- Build Large Systems: Design and manage the infrastructure as we move from small teams to full-scale projects.
- Manage Helm: Create and maintain a system for sharing Helm charts across different teams.
- CI/CD Leadership: Standardize how we build and test code. You will define code quality rules, KPIs, and versioning standards.
- Pipeline Engineering: Use Jenkins to build and manage complex automation pipelines.
- Work with People: Navigate “company politics” and help different teams agree on technical standards.
- Visual Planning: Use UML diagrams to explain how the DevOps systems and workflows work.
- Deployment: Lead the way in microservices deployment and Continuous Delivery (CD).
