  • BA/BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in the data engineering and software development life cycle
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining production data applications, current experience in both relational and columnar data stores
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience working with AWS cloud services
  • Comprehensive experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java or Rust
  • Comprehensive experience working with Big Data platforms (i.e., Spark, Google Big Query, Azure, AWS S3, etc.)
  • Familiarity with time series databases, data streaming applications, event-driven architectures, Kafka, Flink, etc.
  • Experience with workflow management engines (i.e., Airflow, Luigi, Azure Data Factory, etc.)
  • Experience with designing and implementing real-time pipelines
  • Experience with data quality and validation
  • Experience with API design
  • Ability to communicate in English

Nice to have:

  • Certification in AWS or other cloud providers
  • Experience with Databricks notebook workflows
  • Experience with Terraform

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design for data solutions for both internal software platforms and external
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, high-performance and robust data services for connected vehicle data in distributed data processing platforms using modern Big Data technologies
  • Make technology and architectural decisions with input from a broad set of technical teams, driving implementation and influencing departments outside of your own to create win-win scenarios
  • Lead efforts to implement and maintain consistent instrumentation across software platforms and features
  • Develop end-to-end processes to standardize troubleshooting via world-class documentation (e.g., runbooks)
  • Creatively resolve blockers and integrate into multiple processes and workstreams to accomplish goals
  • Build relationships with key partners & stakeholders to meet the needs of upstream and downstream dependencies
  • Support & help develop team members across the team to ensure the team is developing and thriving
