What is DevOps?

DevOps combines two words, Development and Operations, representing the marriage of writing code and creating applications or software with the operating and maintaining an organization’s IT infrastructure. This combination allows companies to streamline and scale software development and deployment quickly, while minimizing errors and increasing innovation.

How does DevOps work?

Development engineers and operations work together through the entire development process, from design to production to deployment, and can involve systems and network engineers, operations personnel, administrators, and cybersecurity staff. DevOps has a lot of similarities with Six Sigma Lean and Agile methodologies, which emphasizes close collaboration and iteration of software development.
