What is Cloud Security?
Coud Security is a collection of frameworks of controls, technologies, procedures, policies, and security measures designed to protect an organization’s software, applications, and infrastructure from data loss, external cyberthreats, and breaches. Coud security ensures operational continuity and regulatory and compliance requirements.
How does Cloud Security work?
Cloud security is built on four security models: public, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud. Public cloud security is a shared model owned and operated by cloud service providers like Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure. Private cloud security models are dedicated to a single organization, which maintains all control over access and infrastructure. Hybrid cloud security combines public cloud scalability with private security controls. Multi-cloud security models use a variety of public cloud vendors.
What are the business benefits of Cloud Security?
- Provides a safer remote work environment, which gives employees agility and flexibility in their work
- Safeguards company infrastructure from unmonitored access, while protecting data and operations from cyberhacks and breaches
- Retains business-critical data in the event of a business continuity interruption, like a natural disaster, breach, infrastructure collapse, network failure, or inadvertent data wipe
- Limits how data gets shared and prevents data from going to unauthorized users and unmanaged devices
- Allows organizations to reallocate internal resources and staff to focus on core business priorities
