What is Testing-as-a-Service?

Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS) is a cloud-based outsourced testing service that allows organizations to leverage software testing tools, resources, and expertise on demand, without having to heavily invest in internal testing infrastructure. TaaS service providers can perform a variety of tests on devices, platforms, and network environments.

How does Testing-as-a-Service work?

Testing-as-a-Service providers set up and conduct manual and automated cloud-based testing environments to determine proper functionality, compatibility, performance, regression, and security measures. Companies can access TaaS services through managed testing, in which a third-party vendor executes the entire testing process; on-demand testing , which allows companies to request services when they are needed; and crowd-sourced testing, which gathers together a large group of testers to perform large-scale testing.

What are the business benefits of Testing-as-a-Service?

  • TaaS gives businesses access to specialized expertise and technologies without having to hire additional staff
  • Accelerates the software release process and reduces time-to-market without sacrificing quality
  • Maximizes cost savings by outsourcing testing expertise and reducing infrastructure build investment
  • Ensures scalability without adding additional complexity in time, money, or personnel
  • Offers continuous quality assurance by providing companies with an always-available environment equipped with global expertise that constantly updates and maintains testing requirements
