What is Test Automation?

Test Automation is the process of using software tools to automate software testing on a software application before being released. Test automation helps identify potential problems, like bugs and coding errors, in order to quickly deploy error-, and bug-free software.

How does Test Automation work?

Test automation is used to check that a software application is working as it is supposed to, without constant human interaction. A script is created that performs the checking process consistently again and again, enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and speed of software testing. Organizations using testing automation strategies claim 40 percent faster time-to-market, and a 25 percent reduction in post production defects, according to the World Quality Report 2022. Common test automation frameworks include data-driven, behavior-driven development, keyword-driven, hybrid, and page object model (POM).
