Product Launch and Adoption

What is a Product Launch?

A Product Launch is a planned, coordinated, and multi-step process to bring a new product, or a product with major new features, to market. Done properly, the product launch should drive awareness, create buzz, and generate business sales and revenue.

How does a Product Launch work?

There are three key stages to a product launch: pre-launch, launch, and post-launch. A pre-launch includes market research, product development, and creating a go-to-market strategy and campaigns. A launch encompasses releasing the product, executing the marketing strategy and campaigns, hosting consumer and trade events, engaging with the media, and activating the sales pipeline. The post-launch includes collecting and analyzing customer usage and feedback, assessing performance of adoption rates, marketing analytics, and sales revenue.

What are the business benefits of a Product Launch?

  • Enhances brand reputation and loyalty by communicating the importance of product advancements and innovation to target customers
  • Drives revenue by capturing additional sales from existing and new customers
  • Differentiates the product, and the company, in a competitive marketplace
  • Generates excitement and a sense of camaraderie among team members, as well as anticipation among customers
  • Creates the opportunity to develop enhanced go-to-market strategies, marketing campaigns, and messaging that will resonate in the marketplace
